Monogram Cake Topper Introduction Image

Welcome to Toppers With Glitz -- home of custom designed, genuine Swarovski crystal covered monogram and custom cake toppers. Each Topper is made to exceed your expectations and is handmade by me, Sari (pronounced like "Mary" with an 'S'). I encourage you to look at some of the work I've done by visiting my Portfolio page or to read what former brides have had to say about their Glitz Toppers on the Testimonials page. You can also find out more about how I got started under About Us and learn how the first crystal covered monogram cake topper was created. If you're ready to get started this page will walk you through the wealth of options available here at Toppers With Glitz.
If you're heart is already set on a monogram cake topper and you're ready to start building your custom creation, allow me to guide you through all the steps. We're talking about your wedding, where even the smallest detail matters, so I'll cover all the options and make sure you get exactly what you're looking for. I want you to enjoy picking out your Topper and not have this portion of your wedding planning experience be remembered as overwhelming or stressful. You are in good hands and I am here to help. Please don't hesitate to call on me if you need any help or guidance.

Timing

Since each Topper is made to order, there are a few steps that have to take place once your order is placed. Make sure to check our Calendar once you have a date in mind to ensure we can deliver your topper in time. It will also give you a good idea of when to place your order to avoid unnecessary expedited shipping charges. Just to give you an idea, it generally takes around 4 weeks from order to delivery (though I can turn them around in as little as 3 days in some cases). Contact me if you'd like to know for sure if I can make your date.

Cake Topper Type

The first thing you'll want to decide is what kind of topper you want: Single Letter, Full Monogram, or a custom shape. I can generally create anything to order, including duplicating or working with monograms created by your other wedding vendors like your graphic designer or invitation company. If you opt for a single letter topper, you'll next want to determine what height topper you need based on the diameter of your top cake tier. For most cakes the top tier is about 6 inches wide, but rest assured I'll design your topper to fit perfectly on whatever size cake you've chosen. If you are leaning toward a full monogram, I offer two types, traditional (xYz) and modern (X&Z), which come in standard heights. Check out Cake Topper Types for more details.

Fonts

Selecting your Fonts is the next step, and I have a large selection to choose from. If you don't see the perfect font here on the site, let me know and we can work to find the one you're looking for. You can search the fonts by name or by letter. Using the Preview feature can help with visualization and in determining how well different fonts compliment each other. While you're browsing fonts keep in mind that if you'd like custom changes (like loops added/removed, or the mid section of an H reduced/expanded) they are available. I'll work with you to get your letters perfect.

Letter Details

Additional letter upgrades are also available. The letters themselves come in platinum color by default, but the option of upgrading to a gold color exists for those looking to match other metallic objects at the reception. Each letter's standard thickness is 1/8 of an inch. You can also upgrade the thickness to 3/8" to give the Topper added depth and substance. (This also adds more crystaling options I'll talk about later.)
When picking out your Crystal Colors, think about the other colors used to decorate your cake and what effect you're trying to achieve with the cake topper. Do you want the Topper to be the focal point (dark colors) or an accent (light colors)? Do you want all of your wedding colors represented in the Topper or maybe one in particular that is lacking in other places? The pictures of the crystals were modified to reflect their real life color as accurately as possible, but crystal colors do vary in different lighting and on different computer monitors. Upon request, I'm happy to send crystal samples so you can be sure of exactly what they look like. I've also put together a Color Tips page to give you some ideas of what colors mix well.

Crystal Coverage

Where do you want the crystals!? Every order comes with the option of full or partial crystal coverage. Check out the pictures of each on the Portfolio section. If platinum or gold is a color in your wedding, having partial coverage is an easy way to incorporate that color into your cake.
The back of your Topper can also be covered in crystals. You may want to consider this option if your cake will be displayed in the center of a room, visible from behind. Also, if you opted to upgrade the thickness of your letters, crystals can be placed on the sides of the Topper for a fully encrusted look.

Accessories

Finally, you can add more coordination to your wedding with crystalized accessories matched perfectly to your topper. I have cake serving sets and bouquet jewelry available to crystal with the exact same colors, quality and attention to detail as my cake toppers.

Keepsake

All of your decision making is over now. Phew! The last thing you can be thinking about is how you will want to display your Topper after the wedding. The mounts used to position your topper in the cake are removable so that you can preserve the memories of your wedding by having your cake topper on display. I have gathered some ideas on my Keepsakes page, but the options are endless and I will update the page as I hear about them!
