Thank you to David Blair Photography for the photo!
Here is an example of a romantic cake design with a flair for both traditional and modern.

Pearls on the topper tie in beautifully with the pearls on the cake and the high contrasting fonts and color sets make for a highly legible monogram. A few flowers are used to soften the look.
How can something so clinical be so cute as a cake topper!?

I love working with solids; the cake is brown, the flowers are pink, the topper is gold. That doesn’t mean the topper has to be a solid color. Would you have guessed that four colors were used on this one? The topper can be multi-tonal but the idea is to have it appear to be one color from far away by picking shades that are close to one another. It’s still interesting — the closer you get the more dimension you start to see.

Check out this shabby “cake corner”. Doesn’t every cake deserve to be displayed in such a way? Spoken like a true cake connoisseur.

There cannot be enough said about keeping colors simple. Silk, Crystal, and Crystal AB is one of my all-time favorite combinations. Less can easily be more when it comes to combining Swarovski crystals.

Tres riche…
